Filling in your Star profile well
A published but empty profile is no use. Star’s Dashboard tells you what to complete; here is how to fill it in so it works for you.
Sectors and specialties: be precise
Section titled “Sectors and specialties: be precise”These are the fields property managers filter on.
- Use the words a client would type, not your trade jargon: “plumbing”, “electrician”, “mason”.
- Stay honest about your scope. Aiming at every sector to show up everywhere gets you called for work you do not want. A precise profile brings fewer calls, but good ones.
The description: three things
Section titled “The description: three things”In a few lines: what you do, for whom (property managers, private clients, companies), and what sets you apart (a specialty, a turnaround time, a certification, your years of experience).
Avoid “reliable, dynamic and attentive to your needs”: everyone writes it. “Emergency plumbing within 24 h across the canton of Vaud, 15 years’ experience” says far more. About us can then tell your story.
Service areas and references
Section titled “Service areas and references”- The cantons you really travel to: a property manager who calls you for a job 80 km away wastes their time and yours.
- Your best jobs as references, with a photo: that is the concrete proof of your work.
Specialties, service areas, references and contact details show with the PLUS plan: see Your Star profile.
The advice that counts
Section titled “The advice that counts”Reread your profile from the property manager’s point of view, in the Live preview. They have three suppliers in front of them and thirty seconds to choose: does your page give them a reason to call you?
